Displays paintings from 13th to 20th century, illustrating the evolution of Western Art history.
Rodin Gallery

Assembles artworks of Rodin, his teachers, contemporaries, and assistants, presenting artistic environment at the time of Rodin.
Sculpture Halls

Displays sculptures from Ancient Greco-Roman Period to 20th century, presenting the chronology of history in view.

Musical Instruments

Musical Instruments

Demonstrates diversity and advancement of musical instruments in various cultures through folk musical instruments, mechanical musical instruments, and our highly appraised “Walk-in Orchestra.”
Musical Instruments - The Violin Exhibit Room

Displays selected masterpieces from the famous CHIMEI violin collection of various family lines and regions of violin makers.

Arms & Armour

Exhibits arms and armour to show the advancement of technology and determining winning factors in critical battles.

Visit Info

To ensure a safe, enjoyable museum experience for all visitors, please be sure to comply with the following regulations

1. All 80+ visitor groups must complete reservation forms prior to arrival. For forms in Mandarin please click here.

2. Smoking is not allowed in all Museum areas.

3. Visitors are prohibited from bringing pets (excluding guide dogs).

4. For safety concerns, skateboards, baby walkers or bicycles are not allowed inside the Museum.

5. To preserve and protect the collection items, all exhibitions are kept in low temperature.Please bring a jacket or extra clothing subject to personal needs. CHIMEI Museum reserves the right to refuse admission to visitors who are wearing improper

6. clothing (including flip-flops and roller skates).

7. No stick umbrellas and any objects larger than A3 size inside the Museum. Please deposit them before entering the Museum.

8. No eating, drinking, smoking, chewing gum, betel nut, or alcohol inside the Museum.

9. Photography

Photography is now permitted inside the Museum (on trial). Please refrain from using selfie sticks and tripods, and no flashlights or filming in the exhibition.
Visitors may take photographs only for personal use and non-commercial purposes only. No group photography, pre-wedding shooting, photo-outing, cosplay, graduation photos, photography lecturing or other kinds of photography that may impact the safety or order inside the Museum.
Please do not take photos at photography restricted areas or of exhibits, and respect intellectual property of others.
Please do not cross the safety lines while taking photos. Please beware of your personal safety and do not cause risk, annoyance or disturbance to other visitors, collections or properties.
Our staff is not responsible for providing photo services.
Please refrain from livestreaming in the museum.

10. CHIMEI Museum reserves the right to refuse admission to visitors who violate visiting regulations or are behaving in dangers to the exhibits.

11. Above regulations are subject to change, please refer to the onsite bulletin board. Any violation to the Museum Regulations which caused damage to the collections, properties or other people, the Museum reserves the right to claim.

To echo energy and carbon saving, and to protect the planet, all visitors are encouraged to bring reusable cups to the Museum.

ibon Machines	Tickets purchased from ibon machines cannot be refund at the museum counter. 10% processing fee and other related fees occurred will apply upon refund

Getting Here

1. By car, on National Freeways：

Freeway No.1 (Sun Yat-sen Freeway) or No.3 (Formosan Freeway) → onto Taiwan Provincial Expressway No.86 (west to Tainan) → continue for approximately 5 km → connect onto Taiwan Provincial Highway No.1 (to downtown Tainan) → arriving CHIMEI Museum (Tainan Metropolitan Park).

2. By car, on Provincial Highways：

Provincial Highway No.1 (342 km marker) → arriving CHIMEI Museum (Tainan Metropolitan Park).
Provincial Highway No.17 onto Expressway No.86 to Tainan → go 5 km east and exit at Tainan interchange → connect to Provincial Highway No. 1 (approximately 700 meters to downtown Tainan direction) → CHIMEI Museum is on your right.

3. By Train, Taiwan Railway Administration (TRA)： Get off at Bao’an Station：

On foot： After exiting Bao’an Station, turn right onto Wenxian Road →head straight for 600 meters, CHIMEI Museum parking lot (P4) is on your left → follow the pedestrian crossing through the parking lot to the Museum (approximately 700 meters).
By bus： After exiting Bao’an Station, go to Bao’an Bus Station across from it, take bus Red 3 or bus Red 4 → get off at the Tainan Metropolitan Park stop.
By taxi： The taxi ride to CHIMEI Museum will take around 5 minutes, and costs approximately NT$100.

4. By Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) train： Get off at Tainan Station：

The taxi ride to CHIMEI Museum is approximately 15 minutes and costs NT$300.
Take HSR Shuttle Bus H31 (Tainan City Government route) → Get off at the Tainan Metropolitan Park stop.
Transfer to Taiwan Railway TRA (Shalun Line to Bao’an Station). After getting off at Bao’an Station：
- On foot： After exiting Bao’an Station, turn right onto Wenxian Road →head straight for 600 meters, CHIMEI Museum parking lot (P4) is on your right → follow the pedestrian crossing through the parking lot to the Museum (approximately 700 meters).

Consecutive of 4 or more days, and days announced by the government and museum will Charge by the Hour：

From second hour, every 30 mins NT$40

Accessibility

CHIMEI Museum is dedicated to promoting the knowledge of Western classical arts, natural and human cultures. It is to bring arts and culture close to people and to implement "A Museum for All" as the founding essence by Wen-Long Shi. The museum aims to create a barrier-free environment and to promote the concept of “Art as Life and Life as Art.” Friendly services and shared resources to all disabled groups are provided for their convenient access to the museum.

Tickets：Free for persons with a valid handicap certificate and one companion visitor (Valid only when entering together)
Audio Guide：Persons with a valid handicap certificate may enjoy free audio guide provided by the museum
Parking：Free（Persons with a valid handicap certificate can obtain free parking from the security officers）

By reservation only, the museum will prioritize according to the application time as well as the availability of on-site service staff.

Information Desk

Provides all kinds of service-related information, including visits, exhibitions, transportation information, lost and found, and rental services for reading glasses, wheelchair and baby stroller, etc.

Lockers

The museum has Coin Return Lockers （including large luggage lockers） for temporary storage.

Breastfeeding Room

The museum has breastfeeding rooms for those in need; the facility is equipped with sofa, sink, diaper changing table and hot/cold drinking water.

First-Aid Station

The museum has first-aid station to assist on-site services of visitors in need.

Gift Shop Services

The museum gift shops, souvenir service points, as well as online E-Shop have all kinds of cultural creative goods for visitors.
